Individual grants |
The Foundation grants aid in the form of partial reimbursement of vital products, such as:dental care, hearing aids, eyeglasses, drugs not covered by the healthcare package, walkers. In 2009 some 36,000 needy Holocaust survivors received aid through this channel.
Because of Foundation's current budgetary restrictions, only one application can be filed by an applicant in every two years , and there is a waiting period. The purposes approved for receiving a grant are:
- Dental treatment / hearing aids
- Prescription Drugs
- Medical/rehabilitation equipment/orthopedic instruments
- Tombstone(only for husband/wife and in cases where there is no eligibility for a death grant from the National Insurance Institute)
- Travel for repeat treatments (dialysis and oncological treatments, a medical certificate must be attached)
- Eyeglasses
- Subscription to company providing cardio-beeper services, upon the recommendation of a cardiologist
