The large number of requests for the Hungarian Fund (HGT), which were received by the Foundation prevents it from receiving any new applications.
Therefore, we recommend to Holocaust Survivors of Hungarian Descent and all Holocaust Survivors in general to check for their eligibility for a personal grant through the regular channel intended for all Holocaust Survivors.
Who is eligible for aid?
Anyone born before May 8, 1945 and who lived between September 1939 and May 1945 under World War II Nazi occupation in "Greater Hungary", including the expanded borders that were in force in 1944, and including the territories conquered from Czechoslovakia, Romania and Yugoslavia, (pursuant to the said court ruling) and who spent the period in the Budapest ghetto and/or labor, concentration and extermination camps and/or in hiding and at mortal risk. There is a means test for each aid channel.
The aid channels:
Reimbursement of a maximum total of NIS 12,000 for:
- Dental treatment / hearing aids

Medication
- Eyeglasses .
- Medical/rehabilitation equipment/orthopedic instruments (a specialist's recommendation must be attached) .
- Complementary insurance in a Health Maintenance Organization: Clalit, Maccabi, Leumit or Meuhedet .
- Eligibility is conditional on presentation of original receipts and on the fact that the applicant's income does not exceed NIS 6,650 gross monthly.
Funding of nine weekly in-home nursing hours A Holocaust survivor who is eligible for a nursing benefit from the National Insurance Institute in his/her home (he/she receives 8 or 9 nursing hours weekly - eligibility level B) and provided that his/her income does not exceed NIS 9,445 for an individual and NIS 13,050 for a couple.
How to submit an application The application for HGT grants can be is via the form, sent by mail to the Foundation Office listed at the bottom of this page. Application processing is free of charge. You can also receive free help filling out the form at the offices of the Foundation and/or at the offices of the Association of Hungarian Immigrants.
There is no payment of a commission, fee, or percentages for filling out the forms and receiving the assistance.
